Cozy bedroom morning setup

Journal with pen, cup of coffee, and lamp on bedside table beside bed with person sleeping

The image shows a cozy bedroom bathed in soft morning light coming through a large window with sheer curtains. On a wooden bedside table next to the bed, there is an open journal with handwritten text and a fountain pen resting on it, a ceramic mug filled with a coffee or latte accompanied by a small spoon, and a small glowing lamp beside a small vase holding dried flowers and greenery. The bed itself is unmade with neutral-toned linens, and a person is sleeping under the covers facing away from the camera. The background includes a white wall with a bookshelf holding books, a basket, and a potted plant, adding to the warm, peaceful ambiance of the room.

Welcome to Hot Flashes & Cold Brew!

I’m Rosa, a certified neurology nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner student, wife, and mother of three. My approach to women’s health is rooted in functional medicine — looking beyond symptoms to understand the root causes of what women experience in their bodies, particularly through the hormonal and metabolic shifts of midlife.

Women’s health has long been one of the most underdiagnosed and overlooked areas of medicine. Too many women leave their doctor’s appointments feeling dismissed, confused, and unheard — told their symptoms are normal, their labs are fine, and that what they’re experiencing is simply part of getting older.

Hot Flashes & Cold Brew exists to bridge that gap between clinical knowledge and everyday life. Here you will find evidence-based education on hormonal health, weight management, and mental wellness explain in simple terms we can all understand.

My goal is simple but ambitious.

I want women to understand their bodies. I want them to walk into every medical appointment armed with knowledge and the confidence to advocate for themselves. And I want this community to grow beyond a blog — into a worldwide network of informed, empowered women who refuse to accept anything less than the healthcare they deserve.

You belong here. And together, we’re just getting started.
